Job Title: EHS ManagerLocation: Raleigh, NCSalary: $90,000-$110,000
A well‑established manufacturing organization is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead all safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance activities at a key production facility. The site operates multiple production processes, utilizes mechanical and automated systems, and requires strong EHS leadership to support operational growth and maintain a proactive safety culture.
This position plays a critical role in driving compliance, reducing risk, improving EHS systems, and building a strong employee‑driven safety culture across the facility. The EHS Manager will be responsible for:
Leading site EHS programs and driving achievement of annual EHS targets and objectives.
Developing and supporting EHS strategies aligned with corporate initiatives.
Facilitating site‑wide risk assessments to identify critical hazards and environmental aspects.
Establishing and tracking leading/lagging indicators to measure program effectiveness.
Creating EHS goals for leaders, managers, and front‑line teams to strengthen culture and compliance.
Assigning and supporting EHS process owners and champions.
Promoting and sustaining a zero‑incident safety culture.
Facilitating EHS committees, engagement activities, and site‑wide participation.
Conducting annual compliance evaluations and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
Maintaining ISO/OHSAS certifications and ensuring audit readiness.
Managing EHS data systems for incident reporting, environmental metrics, corrective actions, and risk assessments.
Developing and maintaining training matrices to ensure all required training is completed.
Ensuring operational controls, PM tasks, and safety systems are in place and maintained.
Managing agency interactions, including regulatory inspections, findings, and corrective actions.
Leading crisis response efforts when needed.
Pursuing external recognition to position the site as a world‑class EHS operation. The EHS Manager will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (required).
Preferred certifications: CSP, CIH, CHMM, or similar advanced credentials.
Strong team‑building, organizational, and leadership skills.
Experience leading or managing EHS programs within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Ability to manage competing priorities and provide leadership across departments.
Proficiency using enterprise‑level EHS reporting systems.
Experience in environmental, health, and safety program management and employee training.
English/Spanish bilingual preferred.
