Fractional CFO

A growing small business is looking for a Fractional CFO to provide part-time, strategic financial leadership. This is a great fit for an experienced finance professional who enjoys the variety and flexibility of fractional work, and who's passionate about helping smaller organizations build strong financial foundations.

Why This Role Is Different

Rather than managing a large corporate finance function, you'll work closely with ownership and leadership to bring big-company financial discipline to a small business — cash flow visibility, forecasting, and strategic decision support, all tailored to the pace and scale of a growing company.

What You'll Focus On

• Providing strategic financial guidance directly to ownership/leadership
• Building and maintaining cash flow forecasts and financial models
• Overseeing budgeting and financial planning processes
• Reviewing monthly financials and translating them into clear, actionable insight
• Advising on pricing, profitability, and growth-related financial decisions
• Supporting banking relationships, financing needs, and lender communications
• Helping implement or improve accounting systems and financial processes
• Guiding the business through key financial milestones (e.g., growth, financing, ownership transitions)

Ideal Background

• Prior experience working with or within small businesses strongly preferred
• Significant experience in a CFO, Controller, or senior finance advisory capacity
• Comfortable operating without the infrastructure of a large finance department
• Strong communication skills and comfort advising owners/leadership directly
• CPA or MBA a plus, but practical experience and business judgment matter most
