Web Developer

We are seeking a passionate, driven web developer who will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development.

This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on). The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems.

Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred along with a keen understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Writing maintainable, standard-driven code
• Taking ideas from concept to implementation
• Translate designs built in Adobe XD to the web using best practices
• QA testing for various browsers and viewing sizes
• Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
• Develop dynamic and responsive websites, banners and email templates
• Working with the team to ensure the websites function properly for SEO and conduct SEO Audits
• Staying up to date on new technology and techniques and educating the team as a thought leader and mentor

What We Need

• Experience in building websites (2-4 years of work experience)
• Fluent in HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, CSS, SVG, Responsive Web Design, Mobile technologies
• Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
• Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
• Ability to work collaboratively, remain open to feedback, and know-how and when to defend development decisions
• Experience with cross-browser and cross-platform development
• General knowledge and experience of SEO implementation and strategy
• Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
• Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools {{such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial}}
• Strong understanding of PHP back-end development

Nice to Have

• A working knowledge of WordPress and its template hierarchy
• A working knowledge of Adobe XD
• Working knowledge of ADA and WCAG standards and practices
