POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation of our warehouses, including receiving, storing, picking orders, packing where applicable, and dispatch of goods.
You will work in our Pittsburgh facility in collaboration with the production department as well as the supply chain and quality departments located in Canada to achieve objectives such as: on time delivery, cost optimization, reduction of processing and delivery times, quality of service, etc.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organization on the floor and management of all moving parts, ensuring a good flow. Supervision and monitoring of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transportation costs, and efficiency
- Ensure that all procedures are followed according to the company's standards and expectations
- Review, identify, plan and manage all logistics and warehousing processes or operations that involve ensuring that accurate and complete accounting, tracking and internal control systems are operating
- Maintain receiving, warehousing and distribution operations
- Plan, organize, and manage warehouse solutions
- Liaise with contacts to ensure coordination of shipments
- Manage the relationship with transportation brokers (FedEx, UPS etc)
- Ensure FIFO is tracked
- Supervise and ensure the daily warehouse transfers of raw parts necessary for our various production lines.
- Coordinate transfers from our 3PL (rental warehouse) to our warehouse and vice versa when required
- Coordinate the receipt and delivery of goods
- Responsible for the team of our US warehouse and ensuring its smooth operation
- Keeping the inventory control system up to date
- Control inventory levels by performing physical counts; in connection with the ERP system
- Daily communication with other departments, staff groups and customers, including participation in daily coordination meetings
- Supervise and process orders
- Assume responsibility for the use of automated and computerized systems
- Supervise, mentor and train the warehouse workforce
- Ensure that all inventory receipts and transfers are validated and all processed accurately in our ERP system.
- Ensure that all required documents (Documentation for international shipments / Internal requisition order / Transfer between our different warehouses & departments, etc.) are accurate and updated in compliance
- Develop and maintain an environment that fosters teamwork, inclusion, and communication
- Work closely with the Director of Operations and the Director of Supply Chain on reports, missing packages,complaints, etc.
- Monitor daily labor costs and labor reports, ensuring all timesheets are accurate
COMPETENCY PROFILES AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Experience/ Certification
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory position in the shipping and distribution industry, with a focus on operations management
- 3 to 5 years of experience in managing a warehouse or production line.
- Experience with Ground Shipping/Receiving Operations
- Ability and certification to drive a forklift – a requirement
- Knowledge of International Logistics (an asset)
- Knowledge of HS and tariff codification rules (an asset) · Experience and/or knowledge in international customs clearance (USA, Asia, Europe, etc....) · Experience with managing dangerous goods / hazardous materials (an asset) · Good knowledge of the various INCOTERMS
Knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse and logistics processes
- Must know the ins and outs of a warehouse and its typical systems
- Knowledge of IT systems, ERP system. Specific knowledge in the Netsuite ERP system, an asset
- Good knowledge of the MS Office suite: Excel, Word, etc.
- Knowledge of local and international transportation laws and regulations
- Working knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
- Knowledge of the manufacturing sector (asset)

- Good sense of self-reliance and transparency in communication in the context of head office being in another country (Canada)
