UX Designer (Human Factors & Medical Device Domain)

Position Overview

We are seeking a UX Designer (Human Factors & Medical Device Domain) to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA on a FTE/Permanent basis.

You will be responsible for designing intuitive user interfaces for medical devices and applications while ensuring compliance with established UX standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design user interfaces for medical devices and applications with a focus on User Experience.
• Translate user needs and clinical workflows into intuitive UI/UX designs, including proofs of concept.
• Apply UX standards such as IEC 62366 and FDA Human Factors guidelines.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs using tools like Figma and Sketch.
• Conduct user testing and iterate designs based on feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, clinicians, and regulatory experts.
• Document design decisions and compare intended design vs actual implementation.
• Utilize design language systems (DLS) to create GUI designs, including low fidelity, high fidelity screens and clickable prototypes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human Factors, Interaction Design, or a related field from a reputed institution.
• Minimum 3 years of UI/UX design experience, preferably in the medical device domain.
• Strong knowledge of usability guidelines and standards (e.g., IEC 62366, FDA Human Factors guidance).
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in a regulated environment and understand compliance requirements.
