Fay Cafe is seeking an experienced and skilled Chef de Partie to manage the savory section of our kitchen. The ideal candidate is organized, quality-focused, and capable of maintaining high production standards in a fast-paced environment.

Scope of Work

Responsible for managing a savory section of the kitchen, ensuring smooth operations, quality standards, and timely production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead production and ensure operational continuity in the absence of the Sous Chef.
• Supervise Demi Chefs and Commis in the assigned section.
• Follow specifications from the Sous Chef regarding portion size, quantity, and quality to maintain standards and consistency.
• Monitor kitchen equipment (chillers, freezers, etc.) to ensure proper operation and report any deviations to the company technician.
• Maintain all cooking equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper working condition at all times.
• Assist in stock management, inventory control, and ordering for the section.
• Maintain hygiene and safety standards in compliance with local food safety regulations.
• Contribute to menu testing and new product development trials.

General Duties

• Adhere to company uniform and grooming standards.
• Foster positive and respectful working relationships within the kitchen team.
• Work safely and efficiently while handling food and physical tasks.
• Ensure thorough and accurate shift handovers.
• Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by management.

Communication

• Maintain clear and professional communication with management and colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner when required.

Personal Development

• Engage in continuous learning and professional development to enhance skills and career progression.

Occasional Responsibilities

• Support special events when required.
• Assist during internal and municipality audits.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of kitchen experience, with at least 2 years as a Chef de Partie.
• Strong knowledge of savory cooking methods and plating techniques.
• Good organizational and leadership skills.
