Job Objective :Plans, directs, and oversees a company's operational policies, rules, initiatives, and goals. Helps the organisation execute long-term and short-term plans and directives by applying judgement, vision, management, and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Strategic and planning
- Identify business goals and cascade the same to Operations, Quality, Maintenance and SCM Teams.
- Finalize business targets for the year and review the execution and achievement of the business goals periodically (monthly/ quarterly/ annually)
- Identify and drive key strategic initiatives.
- Core:
- Implement the development of Annual Operating Plans, cascading TAFC business plans into Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain
- Allocate resources to various functions as per business plans.
- Review functional performance against targets.
- Survey the environment to benchmark best practices and latest developments in the pharma packaging industry.
- Understand client/brand requirements and oversee client relationship management.
- Collaborate with Global SCM Head to ensure procurement of Raw Material/ other key materials as per requirement.
- Monitor key strategic initiatives (like standardization of global manufacturing, differentiated customer experience across archetypes, nutraceutical growth etc.) and report on their status to the Board.
- Ensure 100% compliance to Corporate Governance framework and guidelines.
- Direct compliance to regulations and legal requirements laid down by government bodies.
- Review and control major deviations by providing timely guidance around corrective actions.
- Focus on executing cGMP standards and then improve the same as per Global Standards.
- Focus on Automation and Digital projects to bring in effectiveness in the manufacturing process in line with Industry 4.O practises.
- Internal Processes
- Ensures the operations are technologically at their cutting edge and recommends strategies to constantly upgrade technologies.
- Ensures modern operational and manufacturing management techniques are used to achieve global-class standards.
- Benchmarks best-in-class practices to enhance operational efficiencies and waste reduction.
- Has a sharp focus on Productivity, Costs, Quality, OTDIF, and safety.
- Safety must be paramount as part of achievement orientation and must ensure a very strong culture of safety.
- Creates a strong collaborative environment for effective working of cross-functional teams as part of a Kaizen and small group improvement culture.
- Ensure regular reporting of operations targets Vs. Actual, compliance issues and other MIS requirements to the Head-Sales & Operations.
- People development
- Take overall responsibility for people development initiatives and building up in-house capabilities for the associates in the department.
- Drive a performance-driven culture in the team by timely monitoring, review of performance parameters, and feedback to the team members.
- Contribute towards development of talent for the department by providing subordinates with adequate exposure and growth opportunities to enable readiness for higher roles.
- Actively participate in HR initiatives to drive overall employee engagement and motivation, retention, and acquisition of skilled talent Must have 15 years of experience in a leadership role preferable in the pharma domain
- Experience in managing multiple activities related to operations, supply chain, and quality assurance
- Brownfiels/greenfield projects experience would be an added advantage
