Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business/Product Developer with a strong background in business development to join our team. In this dual-faceted role, you will be the linchpin between our R&D teams and the commercial market. You will not only guide the lifecycle of our medical products from ideation to launch but also identify market gaps, evaluate commercial viability, and forge strategic partnerships.

The ideal candidate has 5 to 10 years of experience in the medical field, possesses a deep understanding of healthcare regulatory landscapes, and knows how to turn clinical needs into profitable, scalable business solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Strategy

• Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle for new medical [devices/software/solutions], from concept and prototyping to regulatory clearance and market launch.
• Translate complex clinical needs and market feedback into clear, actionable product requirements and specifications for the R&D and engineering teams.
• Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs (QA/RA) to ensure products meet all compliance standards (e.g., SFDA, ISO 13485, CE marking, HIPAA).
• Develop and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term strategic goals.

Business Development & Commercialization

• Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, unmet clinical needs, and competitive threats in the healthcare landscape.
• Develop robust business cases for new product initiatives, including financial modeling, ROI projections, and pricing strategies.
• Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), clinical research organizations, and potential distribution partners.
• Work alongside the sales and marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies, commercialization plans, and sales enablement materials.
• Evaluate potential licensing, acquisition, or co-development opportunities that align with our product portfolio.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 5–10 years of proven experience in product development, product management, or business development specifically within the medical, healthcare, or MedTech industry.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, including hospital purchasing cycles, reimbursement landscapes (e.g., CPT codes, Medicare), and clinical workflows.
• Regulatory Acumen: Familiarity with medical regulatory pathways (e.g., FDA 510(k), PMA, MDR) and quality management systems.
• Skillset: Exceptional cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to speak the language of both engineers and C-suite executives.
• Communication: Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, with a track record of successfully engaging with clinicians and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or MBA.
• Previous experience successfully launching a medical product from scratch and scaling its market presence.
• Established network of healthcare professionals and industry contacts in the [insert specific medical niche, e.g., cardiology/orthopedics] space.
