Your Role will focus on

• Providing strategic legal counsel and oversight across banking, commercial, regulatory, and litigation matters, while safeguarding BSF’s interests and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Driving legal excellence through effective stakeholder partnership, proactive risk management, and the development and mentorship of legal teams to support business objectives and operational success.

Your Key Responsibilities

Responsible, for both conducting and overseeing the day-to-day legal activities of BSF as well as assisting the General Counsel, with the oversight of high-level legal activities of BSF. Work closely with business line members serving as their advisor on a variety of banking and commercial transactions as well as other legal matters. Attend hearings and trials on matters as required.

• Drafting and revising banking and commercial agreements as well as other legal documents.
• Managing relationships between LGD and various business lines within BSF.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to Legal Advisors and assist them where necessary.
• Contribute to business and legal teams as an advisor and strategic thinker.
• Handle day-to-day litigation, administrative and regulatory matters, hearings, investigations and trials by minimizing risk and exposure or maximizing recovery for BSF.
• Attend hearings and trials and report the outcome back to the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel and LGD Head responsible for the matter.

Qualifications & Experience

• Law degree from an accredited University in the jurisdiction where licensed (J.D, L.LB, L.L.M, etc.)
• Licensed to practice law.
• Minimum five (7) years of legal practice experience required.

Some litigation experience preferred
