Senior Manager Building Services MEP Electrical Engineer

Qiddiya Investment Company is looking for a Senior Manager - Building Services MEP Services Electrical Engineer to lead and manage the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering processes for our pioneering and diverse development projects.

The role requires oversight of the design, execution, and commissioning phases to ensure that MEP electrical systems meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

The Senior Manager - Electrical MEP will provide independent electrical design assurance for all building services power systems, including LV power distribution, lighting systems, emergency power, generators, UPS systems, cable routing, containment, grounding, and earthing systems.

The role performs targeted reviews, documented spot checks, and cross-disciplinary coordination to catch design issues early, validate electrical assumptions, confirm constructability, and ensure maintainability and operational functionality of electrical systems in line with KSA codes, design governance, and authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine all electrical design documentation including: LV distribution systems (MDBs, SMDBs, DBs, breakers, protection coordination), lighting and emergency lighting systems, power calculations, load schedules, fault level studies, voltage drop calculations, earthing and grounding systems, generators, ATS/AMF panels, UPS systems, redundancy schemes, electrical rooms, risers, shafts, and cable routing engineering. Verify compliance with international electrical standards, SEC regulations, Civil Defense requirements, MOMRAH/Balady submissions, and QIC policies.
• Manage and oversee electrical MEP contractors and consultants to ensure timely and quality delivery.
• Perform documented spot checks on every drawing set, specification, and BOQ with risk-based sampling, focusing on cable tray and containment coordination, protection settings and discrimination studies, lighting zoning, switching logic, and lux levels, emergency power pathways, grounding and bonding connections, power routing within congested corridors, ceilings, risers, and plant rooms. Validate consistency between single-line diagrams, schedules, layouts, schematics, and load lists.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to maintain integration and resolve interfacing issues.
• Monitor progress, budgets, and schedules for electrical MEP works and report to project leadership.
• Ensure compliance with applicable local, national, and international standards and regulations.
• Participate in risk management and quality assurance processes.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in electrical MEP engineering practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in electrical MEP engineering, with at least 8 years in a leadership or senior managerial role.
• Strong experience in stage gate design reviews, design assurance, technical governance, and authority submissions.
• Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure or commercial development projects.
• Experience in Saudi Arabia/GCC regulatory environment is mandatory.
• Experience in electrical systems for mission-critical and resilient facilities is highly preferred.
• Experience in contractor design reviews, IFC reviews, and construction-stage technical support is preferred.
• Familiarity with local and international codes and standards related to MEP electrical systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience working in fast-paced, multidisciplinary construction environments.
