About the Role

Arabian Gulf Contracting is seeking an experienced Commercial Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial and contractual aspects of construction and infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for cost estimation, contract administration, procurement support, and commercial management to ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and project budgets.
• Monitor project costs, expenditures, and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle.
• Administer contracts, evaluate variations, and manage change orders in accordance with contractual terms.
• Prepare tender documents, analyze bids, and assist in contractor and supplier selection.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial agreements with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Conduct cost forecasting, financial reporting, and commercial performance analysis.
• Measure completed work and certify contractor and subcontractor payment applications.
• Identify commercial risks and recommend cost-saving strategies to maximize project profitability.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, contractual obligations, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and clients to support successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in quantity surveying, commercial management, or construction cost control.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimation, procurement processes, and contract administration.
• Experience with FIDIC contracts and commercial management practices is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying and cost management software such as CostX, CCS Candy, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar applications.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for cost analysis and reporting.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Professional membership or certification with organizations such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or AIQS is an advantage.
