Job Description

The Assistant Vice President – Broker Relations is responsible for managing, growing, and strengthening Orient’s broker network across General and Medical insurance lines. The role focuses on developing strategic broker partnerships, driving portfolio expansion, and ensuring seamless coordination between brokers, underwriting, finance, and internal teams.

It ensures optimal broker performance through regular reviews, training, renewal management, and strict adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements, while maintaining strong relationships that support business growth and corporate account acquisition.

What you will do (Key Responsibilities)

• Maintain and expand the broker portfolio, mainly on General Insurance and other lines
• Conduct regular and strategic meetings with allocated brokers to develop the portfolio.
• Handle renewal management and related coordination with both brokers and the Underwriting team.
• Prepare business/performance reports on a monthly basis and share them with the line manager.
• Conduct portal presentations and training for brokers on various products offered by Orient.
• Monitor and analyse broker performance on a regular basis.
• Support the Finance Department on credit control–related issues.
• Maintain excellent rapport with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Build a strong pipeline of corporate accounts for each quarter.
• Update and maintain all KYC‑related documents of the panel broker.
• Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance‑related processes required by the company.

Required Skills to be successful (Qualification)

• Education: Bachelor’s / Master’s / Diploma.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in a broker relations role.
• Certification: Insurance certification will be an added advantage.
• Excellent communication and people‑management skills.
