Operations Executive (Base Metals) – Global Trading House

The global commodities trading firm with a strong presence across energy, metals, and agricultural markets. The business combines physical trading, asset optimisation and risk management, supported by an entrepreneurial and commercially driven culture., they are currently hiring an Operations Executive for their metal division in Singapore.

Role Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Metal Operator is responsible for coordinating the transportation and delivery of Copper, Aluminium, and Nickel, ensuring compliance with shipping schedules and terms. This includes working closely with shipping agents, warehouse managers, and logistics partners to track shipments, resolve operational issues, and manage logistics and freight costs for optimal efficiency.

The role also involves managing trading documentation such as Letters of Credit (LC), Bills of Lading (BL), and other trade-related documents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the operator liaises with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations, mitigate risks, and provide regular updates on shipment status and operational challenges to management.

Requirements The successful candidate will hold a degree in Maritime Studies or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in Copper, Aluminium, and Nickel operations.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the metal trading cycle, logistics, and documentation processes, as well as experience in managing contracts, shipments, and coordinating with suppliers, customers, and logistics partners. Strong communication skills are essential for managing relationships and ensuring smooth operations.
