Head of Construction

A confidential client in the design & build / workplace sector is hiring a Head of Asia, based in Singapore.

This is a senior, commercial leadership role for someone who has already built and grown a business in physical workplace / project delivery and now wants to take ownership of an established platform and scale it.

The mandate

• You will lead, build and scale the Asia business from Singapore.

Your impact will be felt in three places from day one:

• On the ground: visible leadership presence with the team, creating connection, momentum and higher standards.
• In the market: stronger pipeline, earlier engagement with clients and a clearer, more intentional growth engine.
• Over time: a business that is more repeatable, scalable and valuable because of the decisions you make now.

This role is built for a senior leader who

• Has grown up in physical workplace, design & build, project delivery, construction or closely related environments.
• Talks comfortably to end-user occupiers and senior client stakeholders, not just through intermediaries or channel partners.
• Understands how complex projects are won, delivered and expanded, and can be credible with both clients and delivery teams.
• Has already led a business unit, country or region and is ready to own a broader P&L.

You are naturally front footed in the market

• You like getting in early, shaping opportunities and opening doors, not sitting back waiting for RFPs.
• You build your own network of clients and influencers and know how to convert relationships into work.
• You are comfortable being “the face” of the business in Asia and carrying the commercial narrative.

This is not a back-office leadership title. In practice, you will:

• Lead the Asia business from Singapore, with regular time in front of your team and clients.
• Set direction and tempo for pipeline, client activity and key pursuits.
• Build stronger relationships with existing clients and open up new ones in the region.
• Put structure around how opportunities are identified, pursued and reviewed.
• Mentor and develop the team, raising standards while keeping the culture supportive and accountable.
• Make decisions with scale and repeatability in mind – building a platform, not just chasing individual wins.

Leadership style

• You can put an arm around the team when needed, and you can also be clear on expectations and performance.
• You enjoy coaching and developing people, but you stay close to numbers and commercial outcomes.
• You are comfortable making calls that affect team shape, client focus and growth priorities.
