Application Support Engineer (Oracle Forms / Reports / ADF / PL/SQL)

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to provide technical support, maintenance, and continuous improvement for enterprise applications built on Oracle technologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting application issues, supporting business-critical systems, optimizing performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. This role requires strong expertise in Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle ADF, and PL/SQL.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 application support for mission-critical enterprise applications.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application, database, and system issues within agreed service levels.
• Analyze application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance improvements.
• Support and maintain applications developed using Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle ADF, and PL/SQL.
• Develop, modify, and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and database objects.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring production issues and implement preventive solutions.
• Collaborate with business users, developers, infrastructure teams, and vendors to resolve technical issues.
• Support application deployments, patch releases, and system upgrades across development, testing, and production environments.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and operational procedures.
• Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production release activities.
• Monitor application health, system availability, and database performance to ensure business continuity.
• Stay current with Oracle technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to junior team members.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports, including forms development, triggers, built-ins, libraries, and runtime configuration.
• Experience developing and supporting applications using Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF).
• Strong proficiency in PL/SQL, including stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, cursors, and performance tuning.
• Experience supporting and maintaining Oracle-based enterprise applications in production environments.
• Good understanding of Oracle Database architecture, schema design, indexing, and SQL optimization.
• Experience working with Oracle WebLogic Server or equivalent Oracle middleware technologies.
• Knowledge of application deployment, monitoring, and incident management processes.
• Familiarity with legacy Oracle application modernization and integration with newer technologies.
• Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and structured testing practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware or Oracle Cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of application remediation and system performance optimization.
• Experience with ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Exposure to version control tools and CI/CD practices is an advantage.
