Senior Devops - Strong in Java

We are looking for an experienced Backend Java Developer to join our team in driving the future of Corporate Actions & Income Processing (CAIP).

In this role, you will work closely with development teams in Poland and Switzerland as part of an Agile pod to design, build, and deploy the target-state CAIP platform, integrating with a variety of upstream and downstream applications and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Work within the Processing Strategic Pod of the Managing Corporate Actions crew, driving the strategic roadmap of the CAIP platform.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and international teams in an Agile environment.
• Apply strong design, analytical, and problem-solving skills to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions.
• Evaluate frameworks, tools, and technologies to determine the most suitable approach for each business requirement.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software while ensuring engineering best practices and coding standards are followed.
• Contribute to the continuous evolution of the CAIP platform and its supporting technologies.

Mandatory Skills

• More than 10 years of experience in Backend Development using:
• Java
• Spring Boot
• J2EE
• REST APIs
• Microservices
• Proven experience delivering projects within the financial services sector, supporting high SLA requirements for data availability and data quality.
• Strong interest in learning new technologies and engineering practices while leveraging strategic platforms and enterprise standards.
• Ability to evaluate technical options and make decisions with long-term sustainability in mind.
• Strong communication skills, including technical writing and delivering presentations.
• Strong proficiency in:
• Java
• Spring Boot
• Microservices development
• Cloud development (Azure experience preferred)
• Experience with:
• API design and implementation
• RESTful services
• System integration
• Messaging technologies such as Kafka
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and delivering large-scale, highly scalable systems.
• Experience in full-stack Java development, including:
• Java/J2EE
• React.js
• Kafka
• REST APIs
• Microservices
• Event-driven architecture
• Previous experience developing products that support complex financial use cases is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools, such as GitLab Copilot or IDE-based coding assistants.
• Familiarity with using Generative AI for:
• Code suggestions
• Unit test generation
• Debugging
• Technical documentation
• Eagerness to adopt AI-powered development tools to improve engineering productivity, efficiency, and continuous learning.
