Senior Legal Counsel - Financial Services

LMA Recruitment is conducting a search for a senior legal professional to join a growing regional financial services platform.

This is a broad, high-visibility in-house role working closely with senior leadership across businesses spanning insurance, wealth and fiduciary services. You will provide practical legal advice across the Group while helping to establish and develop the legal function as the business continues to grow.

Key areas include

• Advising senior stakeholders on commercial, regulatory and strategic matters
• Supporting insurance and other regulated financial services activities
• Reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements
• Advising on regional regulatory developments and risk matters
• Managing disputes and external legal advisers where required
• Working with internal teams across multiple jurisdictions
• Helping to build practical legal processes and frameworks for a growing organisation

The ideal candidate should look like

• At least 6 years PQE or more
• Preferred qualification in Singapore or another common law jurisdiction
• Strong experience in insurance law, financial services regulation or a related regulated industry
• Has a background of in-house and private practice
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to work independently
• Regional experience is advantageous
• Proficiency in Mandarin is required to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
