Senior Teacher in Sped School

About the role

A Senior Teacher role focused on mentoring beginning and assigned teachers within the programme, providing ongoing feedback and coaching to facilitate skill development in lesson design, pedagogy, assessment and disability support.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor beginning and assigned teachers within the programme
• Provide ongoing feedback and coaching / guidance to facilitate skill development in the areas of lesson design, pedagogy, assessment and disability support
• Provide ongoing feedback and coaching / guidance to encourage reflective practice and performance improvement
• Share relevant evidence-based practices which meet different students' needs
• Model lessons to demonstrate and guide mentees in the appropriate use of relevant teaching methods or classroom management techniques to enhance lesson delivery
• Promote knowledge sharing practices in the areas of curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and disability support
• Conduct staff training at least once per semester
• Conduct evaluation of curriculum for currency and relevance, including ensuring alignment with Teaching and Learning Syllabuses provided by Ministry of Education
• Design and implement appropriate assessment to evaluate students' attainment of learning
• Conduct at least 10 periods of classroom lessons per week to keep in touch with students' learning needs
• Perform school duties related to mentoring as assigned by Reporting Officer.
