DevOps Engineering Lead - Global Trading Firm - Hong Kong

Our client, a global trading firm, is actively seeking a DevOps Engineering Lead to join their team in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will sit between software development, quantitative research, and core infrastructure. You will oversee CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and optimize performance for mission-critical trading systems to ensure minimal latency and maximum uptime during market hours.

The role

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, secure, and reliable software delivery.
• Manage infrastructure provisioning (IaC) and configuration across both cloud (AWS/GCP) and on-premise data centers.
• Define and manage SLAs/SLOs. Implement monitoring, alerting, and dashboards to proactively track performance and ensure system resilience.
• Lead high-pressure incident response efforts, conduct root cause analysis, and build systems that prevent recurrence.
• Partner directly with Quants, Traders, and Software Engineers to align technical roadmaps with the firm's business objectives and trading goals.
• Mentor and guide a team of DevOps/SRE engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, high-performance, and accountability.

What you offer

• 8+ years of work experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, or SRE, with a proven track record leading technical teams. Candidates from an investment banking or trading firm background is preferred.
• Strong programming/scripting abilities in Python, Go, Shell.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform).
• Deep experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of Linux environments, networking fundamentals, and kernel-level performance tuning.
• Expertise with observability and logging stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK).
• Ability to provide clarity and decisive leadership under pressure, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills. [
