SAP HANA Technical Consultant (Mid/Senior)

Project Overview

TCMP is seeking an experienced SAP HANA Technical Consultant to join a project developing a next-generation Promotion Engine for an enterprise e-commerce platform running on SAP HANA.

The client recently completed an SAP HANA migration and modernized its e-commerce platform. The next phase is to design and implement a flexible promotion engine that enables marketing teams to configure and manage promotional campaigns without requiring custom development.

This is a greenfield implementation with future plans to evolve into a reusable B2B2C commerce platform.

Engagement Type: Contract / Project-Based

Duration: Approximately 4–6 months (with potential extension)

Location: Remote / Hybrid (depending on client requirements)

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop SAP HANA-based business logic supporting promotional campaigns.
• Design scalable rule-processing logic for promotion evaluation.
• Develop SQLScript procedures, functions, and database objects within SAP HANA.
• Build and optimize data models supporting pricing, discounts, coupons, bundles, and promotional rules.
• Collaborate with backend developers to expose promotion functionality through REST APIs.
• Integrate promotion logic with the existing e-commerce platform and SAP backend.
• Optimize query performance and ensure efficient execution under high transaction volumes.
• Participate in technical architecture discussions and provide SAP HANA best practices.
• Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production deployment.
• Prepare technical documentation and knowledge transfer materials.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on SAP HANA technical development experience.
• Strong experience with SAP HANA SQLScript, stored procedures, functions, views, and calculation views.
• Experience designing business rules and data-driven application logic.
• Strong understanding of SAP HANA database architecture and performance optimization.
• Experience integrating SAP HANA with external web applications through APIs or middleware.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex SQL queries.
• Familiarity with SAP authorization concepts and secure data access.
• Experience working within Agile software development teams.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations.
• Experience building pricing, promotion, or discount management solutions.
• Knowledge of SAP BRF+, HANA Rules Framework, or similar business rule engines.
• Experience supporting enterprise e-commerce platforms.
• Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) is a plus.
• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and modern web architectures.
• Exposure to multi-tenant or SaaS platform design is advantageous.

What You'll Work On

You will play a key role in designing the core promotion engine that powers marketing campaigns across an enterprise e-commerce platform. Rather than maintaining legacy SAP customizations, you'll help build a configurable rules-based system intended to become the foundation for future commerce implementations.

Pay: $32,324.63 - $94,175.26 per month
