Hong Kong Compliance Officer (MSO Experience)
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the Company's compliance, AML, and CFT framework in accordance with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (Cap. 615) and other applicable Hong Kong regulations.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls related to MSO operations.
- Perform customer due diligence (CDD/KYC), ongoing customer reviews, transaction monitoring, and sanctions screening.
- Assist in identifying suspicious transactions and support the preparation and submission of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the relevant authorities when required.
- Conduct AML/CFT risk assessments and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise management on relevant compliance requirements and regulatory updates.
- Assist in internal compliance reviews, audits, regulatory inspections, and remediation of compliance findings.
- Prepare periodic compliance reports and maintain accurate compliance documentation and records.
- Deliver compliance awareness training to employees and promote a strong compliance culture.
- Support MSO licence maintenance, annual review, renewal processes, and communication with Hong Kong Customs where required.
- Work closely with business, operations, and other internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- At least 3–5 years of compliance, AML/CFT, or regulatory compliance experience in the Hong Kong financial services, payment, fintech, remittance, or MSO industry.
- Experience working with Money Service Operator (MSO) regulations in Hong Kong is preferred.
- Familiar with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (Cap. 615), relevant HK Customs requirements, and Hong Kong AML/CFT regulations.
- Knowledge of KYC, CDD, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and AML investigations.
- Experience supporting regulatory inspections, licence renewals, or compliance reporting is an advantage.
- CAMS, AAMLP, or other AML-related professional certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Hong Kong ID holder is preferred.
- Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese), both written and spoken.
