Job Description

Avaloq is seeking a high‑performing Strategy Associate to join the regional strategy organisation supporting APAC, MEAI & US.

The role drives profitable growth through clear GTM direction, structured market intelligence and disciplined strategic planning. In addition, the role supports broader strategic topics across the Sales & Delivery organisation to improve performance, efficiency and scalability.

Exposure to large‑scale transformation programs, particularly cost optimisation initiatives and structured PMO environments is considered a strong advantage.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner to Regional Heads and senior leadership, ensuring fact‑based decision‑making and strong execution across growth and operational initiatives.

The Strategy Associate reports to the Head of Sales & Delivery Strategy, who provides overall direction and prioritisation. The role offers direct exposure to senior management and regular interaction with Regional Heads and executive leadership.

Your key tasks

Market, Client & Competitive Intelligence

• Act as the go‑to person for regional market and competitor insights
• Deliver structured analysis on client trends, competitive positioning and market developments
• Translate insights into clear implications for sales planning and strategic prioritisation

Strategy & GTM Direction

• Support definition and execution of regional GTM strategies under the guidance of the Head of Sales & Delivery Strategy and Regional Heads
• Translate strategic priorities into actionable regional plans
• Support targeted pipeline development and profitable growth

Business Cases & Strategic Initiatives

• Develop fact‑based business cases for growth opportunities and investments
• Support prioritisation and capital allocation decisions in alignment with leadership

M&A and partnership

• Support evaluation of M&A and partnership opportunities from a commercial and strategic perspective
• Contribute to investment cases and leadership recommendations

Account / Sales Planning Frameworks

• Support refinement of customer lifecycle and account management frameworks
• Guide Sales and KAM teams in applying centralised planning frameworks
• Drive consistency and adoption across region

Transformation & Cost Optimisation Programs

• Act as Program Manager or PMO lead for strategic transformation and cost optimisation initiatives
• Support structuring and execution of large‑scale efficiency programs, including operating model refinement and performance improvement efforts
• Establish governance frameworks, milestone tracking, KPI monitoring and risk management structures
• Ensure transparency, executive reporting and cross‑regional alignment across transformation workstreams
• Drive accountability and disciplined execution across stakeholders

Sales & Delivery Strategic Topics

• Support strategic initiatives across the Sales & Delivery organisation.
• Contribute to initiatives focused on process optimisation, resource allocation and operational efficiency across project delivery and solution development

Cross‑Regional Alignment & Executive Support

• Act as a connector across Regions, Marketing, Delivery and Commercial Operations
• Reduce fragmentation and ensure alignment of priorities and execution
• Prepare high‑quality materials and insights for senior leadership decision‑making

Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical and structured problem‑solving skills
• Ability to break down complex topics and translate analysis into clear, actionable recommendations
• Experience building business cases and working with financial models
• Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills; ability to create concise, executive‑ready materials
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams with discipline and ownership

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or a strategy/analytics role within financial services, private banking, wealth management or enterprise software.
• Experience in private banking, wealth management, asset management or fintech is strongly preferred.
• Exposure to commercial strategy, GTM strategy, business case development and M&A evaluation initiatives.
• Experience preparing executive‑level materials and supporting senior stakeholder discussions
