The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly proactive and forward-thinking Assistant Microsoft Solutions Architect to join the core Architect Team in Hong Kong. This is not a passive, maintenance-focused role. Instead, you will act as a senior internal consultant, driving the strategic design, integration, and continuous evolution of our global Microsoft ecosystem.
You will be the senior technical authority, transforming complex business needs into secure, scalable, and unified Microsoft-based platforms. To succeed, you must possess a holistic view of the Microsoft landscape—from Azure and M365 to Power Platform, Dynamics 365, and the latest AI capabilities like Copilot.
You will partner with technology, security, and business stakeholders to modernize platforms, boost productivity, and champion the secure adoption of Microsoft AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Solution Design: Lead the design, integration, and governance of holistic solutions across the entire Microsoft stack. Develop long-term architectural roadmaps, standards, and patterns that ensure seamless data, identity, and workflow integration across Azure, M365, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, and Dynamics 365.
- AI & Modernization Strategy: Stay ahead of the Microsoft roadmap. Evaluate and architect practical business use cases for Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, GitHub Copilot, and Azure AI services. Conduct rigorous readiness assessments (tenant preparation, infrastructure scalability) for emerging technologies.
- Copilot Governance & Adoption: Lead the adoption strategy for Microsoft 365 Copilot, including defining pilot use cases, governance principles, responsible AI guidelines, success metrics, and stakeholder enablement plans.
- Copilot Security & Data Readiness: Assess M365 permissions, data protection, sensitivity labels, DLP, and access controls to ensure Copilot is deployed securely within enterprise boundaries.
- Automation & Agent Design: Design and govern Copilot Studio agents, connectors, and Power Platform integrations to safely automate business workflows.
- Identity & Zero-Trust Security: Define and enforce global security baselines and compliance controls. Oversee architectures involving Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, MFA, RBAC, and privileged access management, ensuring alignment with stringent international security standards.
- Modern Workplace & Collaboration: Drive architectural optimization for modern workplace services (MS Teams, Exchange Online, Intune, and Microsoft Purview) to maximize capability, resilience, and global collaboration.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Act as the ultimate technical escalation point for infrastructure and engineering teams. Lead architecture reviews, make critical decisions for high-impact incidents, and mentor team members to foster a culture of proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with regional and international business and technology teams. Participate in architecture and change advisory boards to assess risks and align solution designs.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or enterprise technology, with 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise-level Microsoft Azure and/or M365 solutions.
- Technical Mastery: A deep, demonstrable understanding of the broader Microsoft ecosystem and how its disparate components (Cloud, Security, Productivity, Low-Code, and AI) integrate into a single, unified enterprise solution.
- Copilot Expertise: Practical knowledge of Microsoft Copilot applications, with the ability to assess organizational readiness across identity, permissions, data governance, and DLP. Experience with Copilot Studio, Power Platform, and workflow automation is highly preferred.
- Security Acumen: Strong understanding of M365 Copilot security, including user permissions, Microsoft Graph grounding, Entra ID, sensitivity labels, audit, retention, and enterprise data protection.
- Core Architecture: Advanced knowledge of Azure infrastructure (Compute, Storage, Hybrid Networking, ExpressRoute), M365 administration, hybrid identity lifecycles, and Microsoft Defender XDR suites.
- Automation Skills: Solid scripting proficiency (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) to automate complex administrative workflows and enforce architectural standards.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, documentation, and troubleshooting skills under pressure. Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, value-driven explanations for both engineers and non-technical management.
- Communication: Excellent written and spoken English. Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is highly preferred to facilitate effective mentorship and collaboration with regional teams.
- For candidates with less experience would be considered for a Deputy Microsoft Enterprise Architect role
