Hong Kong Centre for Logistics Robotics Limited

The Hong Kong Centre for Logistics Robotics was established in 2020 by The Chinese University of Hong Kong under the support of the InnoHK Clusters of the HKSAR government, with research contributions from the University of California, Berkeley.

The Centre focuses on the research and development (R&D) of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for “future workplace” as well as innovative solutions to the “pressing problems” in the logistics industry. Our centre located in Hong Kong Science Park.

We are looking for a Engineer (Robot Software)

We Rely On You To

• Develop, maintain, and integrate software systems for mobile robots.
• Build robotic applications and communication interfaces using ROS/ROS 2.
• Integrate and debug core modules, including perception, control, communication, and data acquisition.
• Deploy, optimize, and troubleshoot robotics algorithms on edge/onboard computing platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, RK3588, RK3576, Intel NUC).
• Compile, configure, run, and maintain robotics software within Linux environments.
• Contribute to the development of data collection tools, hardware interfaces, and testing workflows.
• Supportphysical robot testing, on-site debugging, and system engineering deployment.
• Author and maintainessential technical documentation, test records, and deployment guides

Minimum Qualifications

We are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python, with strong software development and debugging capabilities.
• Familiarity with Linux development environments and standard development tools.
• Experience with ROS or ROS 2, demonstrating the ability to independently develop, integrate, and debug robotics software modules.
• Knowledge of OpenCV and a solid foundational understanding of computer vision.
• Practical experience in robotics software, embedded systems, or relevant engineering projects.
• Strong hands-on ability, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and a collaborative team mindset.
• Working proficiency in English, with the ability to read technical documentation and handle basic professional communication.

Bonus / Highly Preferred

• Degree from a top 100 institution globally (QS World University Rankings).
• Hands-on development or competition experience with real-world mobile robots, robotic arms, quadruped robots, or humanoid robots.
• Deployment and performance optimization experience on onboard/edge computing platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, RK series, Intel NUC).
• Familiarity with Buildroot, Yocto, or other embedded Linux build systems.
• Proficiency in Git, Docker, CMake, and standard software engineering tools.
• Experience with driver integration, calibration, and data processing for sensors including cameras, LiDAR, and IMUs.
• Background in robotics network communication, hardware interfacing, or multi-sensor system integration.
