Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I/II (holding the functional title of Senior Data Analyst/Data Analyst) (several posts) in the Division of Community Medicine and Public Health Practice, School of Public Health (Ref.: 536806) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary term or two-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in statistics, biostatistics, or related disciplines, with at least 3 years’ work experience. They should have a strong quantitative background, good communication and data visualisation skills, the ability to present abstract concepts in an accessible way to all organisational levels and to acquire new statistical techniques by self-learning.

They should be responsible, mature, attentive to details, and able to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of multilevel modelling and other statistical methods for longitudinal data analysis; familiarity with time series analysis and complex survey design and weighting is preferred.

Experience in epidemiological data analysis of large datasets using R and/or STATA is highly preferred, competency in Python and SAS could be an advantage. Those with less experience may be considered as Research Assistant I/II.

The appointees will work on various projects under FAMILY Cohort, a large population-based cohort with over 46,000 participants in 20,000 households and assist in the applied epidemiological and/or statistical research.

They will conduct statistical analyses, generate tables and figures, draft parts of the method and result sections for publications and reports, manage internal and external data transfers, ensure data compliance and cohort database security, and perform other duties as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
