Technical Officer/Junior Technician in the Laboratory Animal Research Unit

Responsible for the routine operation of the animal facility and providing technical support in equipment maintenance and safe operation of the Laboratory Animal Research Unit (LARU). Main duties include:

• Provide husbandry service (i.e. cage changing) in the research animal facility;
• Carry out daily inspection of the research animals;
• Support maintenance of departmental equipment and facility infrastructure;
• Assist in consumable management; and
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Shift duty on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are required.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Biomedical Sciences/Veterinary Science or related disciplines, with at least 2 years’ work experience in work associated with animal.

Candidates with more experience may be considered as Technical Officer.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
