Senior Unity Developer

This is an in-person role in New York City.

Minetta Interactive is an NYC-based mobile puzzle game studio founded by former game design and technical leaders from NYT Games and Two Dots. We are soft launching our first game this summer, a casual word association game. We make mobile games people are proud to play.

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Unity Developer, in person in NYC. This is not a remote role. You will own the architecture and build of our games in Unity, from core gameplay systems to the live code that runs them. You will be hands-on in the engine every day, across gameplay, UI, performance, and tooling.

At Minetta, we develop and test multiple games in parallel. As such, you should be comfortable working on both early prototypes and live games. Sometimes you will have to build durable systems, and other times you will have to build fast for the sake of experimentation. We also expect fluency exploring and architecting with new AI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build core gameplay systems, UI, and the live code that runs our games
• Own performance end to end, profiling and optimizing so games run well across a wide range of devices
• Build and maintain the tools and pipelines that keep a small team fast
• Integrate the systems a live game needs, working closely with design and product
• This is a hands-on role. You will be in Unity writing game code every day

Requirements

• 5+ years building with Unity and C#, ideally on mobile, with deep expertise in Unity's scripting APIs, rendering pipeline, UI systems, animation framework, and profiling tools
• Experience shipping a released game on mobile, console, or PC
• Strong performance instincts: memory management, draw call optimization, asset bundling, and the platform-specific work that keeps a game fast, on mobile especially
• Ability to leverage cutting-edge AI tools (Claude Code, Codex, and custom AI solutions) to accelerate development and improve code quality
• A core understanding of software development, architecture, and design patterns, with clean, maintainable code others can build on
• Comfortable owning a feature from idea to shipped, and working directly with design and product
• Enthusiasm for (mobile) games! This can come in many forms, and can be as simple as knowing games and caring how they feel to play

Bonus

• Experience at a mobile F2P studio, plus knowledge and network within that ecosystem
• Broader full-stack mobile experience: third-party SDKs (ads, analytics, MMPs, IAP), LiveOps, remote config, or backend services
