Job Summary
This position supports one or more components of the IT infrastructure and systems. Responsibilities include supporting and assisting the project team with execution and monitoring the availability, scalability, and performance of IT systems. This role makes updates to system-related installation documentation.
Incumbents in this role may have familiarity with server hardware, software configuration, networking, cloud computing, and security, and exposure to Windows, Linux, and virtualization.
Responsibilities
- Executes tests and reports on system performance to support implementation of one or more components of the infrastructure.
- Provides standard and non-standard maintenance on assigned technologies, choosing from among several different procedures to ensure availability and functioning of systems
- Performs standard and non-standard troubleshooting and escalates issues as appropriate to ensure effective resolution of technical problems.
- Monitors system performance and documents system errors to suggest improvements that will better meet user needs.
- Interfaces with users on specific issues and needs to effectively coordinate system resources.
- Participates on various project teams, providing information and documentation and executing well defined changes for performance tuning and optimization under guidance to ensure the infrastructure meets organization needs.
- Performs capacity planning exercises to properly identify required hardware, software, configuration/architecture necessary to support application needs.
- Monitors and reports tech infrastructure usage trends.
- Assists with the technical security of the IT infrastructure by setting up firewalls, managing access controls/operating systems/ database servers, configuring VPNs, and taking proactive measures against potential cyber threats. Follows security protocols and compliance with security standards, and handling of security incidents.
- Assists with installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical IT hardware infrastructure components of systems, servers, cloud, storage, routers, switches, firewalls, data centers, and workstations.
- Applies specified methods and tools to assist with elicitation and documentation of requirements for simple change initiatives within defined scope.
- Using specified tools and processes, assists with completion of simple tasks in the project/product lifecycle.
- Assists with installation and configuration of software applications, operating systems, databases, and utilities according to organizational requirements. Conducts regular monitoring of software components and tunes them for optimal performance. Identifies performance issues within the software environment, escalating as appropriate.
- Assists with creation of storyboards and wireframes, and evaluation of design options using provided toolsets.
- Assists with the implementation of local and wide-area networks (LAN and WAN), configures routers and switches, and determines proper implementation of network cable and hardware requirements.
- Designs simple system test cases, test scripts, and test data, and automates repeatable tasks working to specified requirements. Assists in planning, preparing, and executing acceptance tests.
- Builds and manages testing environments, assisting in debugging application issues.
- Assists with collection of evidence for quality and safety assurance activities and audits.
- Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.

Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree (AA). An equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Technical Skills
