Senior Software Engineer (AI / Healthcare Technology)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a rapidly growing AI healthcare technology startup building an intelligent platform that helps healthcare organizations improve clinical documentation quality and compliance through AI-powered automation.

As the company continues to scale, you'll play a key role in evolving the engineering infrastructure, improving system scalability, and solving complex technical challenges. Working closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams, you'll own major technical initiatives and help shape the future of the platform in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software systems and backend services.
• Build AI-powered solutions that process and analyze large volumes of clinical documentation.
• Improve the scalability, reliability, and performance of core platform infrastructure.
• Lead technical initiatives and contribute to system architecture and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Customer Success, and Engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and help foster a high-ownership engineering culture.

Technology Stack

• AWS (ECS, RDS, S3)
• Large Language Models (LLMs)
• AI-powered data processing systems
• Modern cloud infrastructure

Experience with these specific technologies is not required, but candidates should have strong experience building scalable production systems and be comfortable working in modern cloud environments.

Job Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience (exceptional candidates with 4+ years will also be considered).
• Proven experience building and scaling software in a startup or high-growth environment.
• Strong experience designing scalable systems and distributed architectures.
• Experience leading technical projects and driving engineering best practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
• A proactive, high-ownership mindset with a passion for solving complex engineering problems.
• Experience with AI, SaaS, or healthcare technology is a plus but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $190,000 - $260,000
• Equity package
• Hybrid work environment in New York City (3–4 days per week in the office)
• TN visa sponsorship available (H-1B sponsorship not available)

Pay: $190,000.00 - $260,000.00 per year
