Job Overview

The NYC Office of Technology and Innovation is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the NYC Digital Service team in delivering high-impact, public-facing digital experiences. This role will focus on managing end-to-end project lifecycles for initiatives such as affordable housing tools, benefits access platforms, and other citizen-facing services.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced project leader who can coordinate across multiple stakeholders, manage timelines, and ensure high-quality delivery in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Define project objectives and develop detailed project plans
• Manage full project lifecycle from planning through delivery
• Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
• Establish communication cadence and facilitate project meetings
• Track progress, document decisions, and escalate risks/issues as needed
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation aligned with objectives
• Create and manage user stories and workflows in Azure DevOps (or similar tools)
• Oversee QA testing processes and ensure compliance with standards
• Manage software release processes and coordinate deployments
• Collaborate closely with technical teams and business stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience managing web-based projects
• Proven track record of delivering websites or digital products from concept to launch
• Strong experience with Agile methodologies and modern software development practices
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps or similar project management/ticketing tools
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment
• Experience working closely with technical teams and developers
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience managing QA and release processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in journalism, content writing, or digital marketing
• Familiarity with SEO principles and content strategy
• Experience with CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Airtable, or similar platforms
• Experience managing budgets and project resources
