Per Diem Physical Therapist – Joffrey Ballet School (NYC)

This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for someone who has already developed excellent clinical judgment and manual skills and is excited to work with one of the world's premier dance training programs.

Symbio Physio is seeking an exceptional per diem Physical Therapist to join our team working directly with the talented dance trainees at Joffrey Ballet School in Manhattan.

This is a unique opportunity to practice high-level orthopedic and sports medicine physical therapy in collaboration with Joffrey's Health & Wellness team. Position Details

• Location: Joffrey Ballet School Studios, Sixth Avenue, Manhattan
• Schedule: September through May
• Required: Thursdays, 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
• Preferred (not required): Wednesdays, 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
• Compensation: $90/hour
• Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide one-on-one physical therapy to pre-professional dancers.
• Thirty-minute treatment sessions with no double-booking.
• Collaborate closely with Joffrey's Health & Wellness team.
• Complete concise clinical documentation through our streamlined EMR.
• Focus on patient care—not insurance authorizations, utilization reviews, or excessive paperwork.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a clinician who is confident, experienced, and passionate about helping high-level performers stay healthy and perform at their best.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist (or eligible for licensure in New York).
• Minimum 3 years of outpatient orthopedic experience.
• Strong manual therapy skills and confidence treating orthopedic conditions.
• Excellent communication and clinical reasoning.
• Reliable, professional, and able to work independently.

Highly Preferred

• Experience treating dancers, gymnasts, performing artists, or high-level athletes.
• Personal dance background or extensive experience working with dancers.
• Advanced manual therapy training through a respected institute (such as IPA, NAIOMT, Maitland, McKenzie, Aspire, or similar). Certification is not required but is highly valued.
• Fellowship or residency training is welcomed.
