SUMMARY

JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a supervisory position responsible for overseeing the staging of all home intercollegiate athletic events and the implementation of the conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations pertaining to game management activities. Serves as liaison to internal and external groups using athletic facilities and troubleshoots potential conflicts with scheduled events.

Responsible for the department calendar, including the scheduling of team practices, games, and non-athletic events. Provides strategic leadership for facilities, game operations, and event management, including staffing, budgeting, and policy development. Works under general supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Deputy Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred.

Two years of related experience is required. Experience in athletic event planning and coordination is required. Experience with NCAA intercollegiate athletics is required. Experience with NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics is preferred. Supervisory experience is preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Coordinates the preparation of the overall calendar of events for the Athletics Department in conjunction with coaching staff and other personnel involved with facility scheduling and services.
• Oversees the staging and management of all home athletic events, including the hosting of pre-season tournaments and championship events.
• Coordinates all SFA-involved conference and NCAA championship events.
• Serves as primary liaison to game management entities, including but not limited to concessionaries, ticket operations, University Police Department, facilities, and spirit groups.
• Acts as the coordinator for University Interscholastic League (UIL) athletic events hosted by the university.
• Negotiates and manages facility rental agreements and contracts on behalf of the university.
• Oversees the execution of game confirmation letters to all opponents pursuant to conference and SFL policy.
• Oversees facility scheduling and external event usage.
• Supervises staff, graduate assistants, and student assistants involved in game operations and facilities.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Adheres to all applicable NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations.
• Attends university, conference, NCAA, and other organizational meetings as assigned.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
