Overview

We’re seeking a Full-Stack Software Developer to design, build, and optimize web applications and services that power our connected medical devices and therapy platforms. You’ll contribute across the stack—from front‑end user interfaces to back‑end APIs and cloud infrastructure—with a strong emphasis on code quality, performance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.

Experience developing software for medical devices (SaMD or SiMD) is strongly desired.

Key Responsibilities

• Write performant, maintainable, well-documented code with test coverage suitable for regulated environments.
• Develop, deploy, and optimize full‑stack web applications (frontend and backend) supporting device provisioning, clinician and patient portals, and data pipelines.
• Build and integrate service APIs and SDKs, including interfaces to device firmware, BLE/USB bridges, and telemetry services.
• Collaborate in a fast‑moving Agile/Scrum environment with software, systems, clinical, and quality teams.
• Create clear engineering documentation (requirements, design specs, risk controls, verification evidence) traceable to regulatory needs.
• Partner with medical device regulatory and quality teams to ensure compliance with FDA and international guidelines (e.g., 21 CFR Part 820, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, FDA cybersecurity guidance).
• Contribute to DevOps and CI/CD (build/release automation, environment hardening, SBOMs, SCA) to improve reliability, speed, and auditability.
• Implement security and privacy best practices aligned to HIPAA and FDA pre/post‑market cybersecurity expectations.
• Support design transfers, verification/validation, and submission/inspection activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in two or more of: Java, C/C++, Python, JavaScript; solid object‑oriented design skills.
• Strong experience with service APIs and/or SDKs.
• Hands‑on experience with the MERN stack: React, Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB.
• Cloud experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Several years of experience in web and/or mobile application development in Unix/Linux environments.
• Several years working in Agile/Scrum at enterprise scale.
• Experience with OAuth or JWT‑based authentication and front‑end security best practices.
• Familiarity with DevOps and version control tools (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
• Deep understanding of cross‑browser and cross‑device development, performance, and web speed optimization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with customers, management, and engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years in API‑driven development: consuming RESTful APIs and building web applications.
• Experience with machine learning (model integration, data pipelines, or inference services).
• Experience developing software for medical devices or regulated healthcare environments (SaMD/SiMD), including:
• Working knowledge of IEC 62304 software lifecycle processes and ISO 14971 risk management.
• Familiarity with design controls, traceability, and verification/validation workflows.
• Exposure to clinical/field data handling, PHI protection (HIPAA), and FDA cybersecurity guidance.
• Participation in audits, submissions, or technical documentation for regulatory bodies.
• Experience integrating with device firmware, BLE/USB communication layers, or data ingestion from connected devices.
• Knowledge of quality systems (ISO 13485) and electronic QMS tools.
