Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Chatsworth, CA

Salary: $110k-$140k base salary + bonus

Position Overview

Join a growing aerospace manufacturer supporting the design, production, and continuous improvement of precision electromechanical products. This role partners with engineering, production, and quality teams to optimize manufacturing processes, introduce new products, and solve complex production challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to resolve manufacturing and production issues.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes to increase quality, efficiency, and cost savings.
• Create and maintain manufacturing plans, work instructions, BOMs, and production documentation.
• Design production tooling, fixtures, and test equipment using SolidWorks.
• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts from design through production.
• Troubleshoot assembly and test issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support engineering change requests (ECR/ECN) and documentation updates.
• Collaborate with production, quality, suppliers, and customers to ensure successful product launches.
• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities to resolve nonconforming material.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience supporting electromechanical products.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience with motors, actuators, hydraulics, valves, engine components, or similar systems.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, GD&T, mechanical drawings, and precision machining.
• Experience with SolidWorks, tooling design, and production support.
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and solve complex manufacturing problems.
