Executive Director, Head of Marketing

The Executive Director, Head of Marketing leads the strategic direction, commercial execution, life cycle management and development of the Brand or Product they manage.
This role may also lead individuals or teams of brand/product managers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Accountable for the product performance and the monitoring of the external environment and the ongoing analysis of the agreed tactical plans to ensure the positioning and growth of Product Portfolio
- Lead and control brand budgets, forecasts and expenses and assess the marketing mix of the product to evaluate cost effectiveness and results
- Identify area market insights and opportunity via interactions with leading thought leaders and consultants within marketed specialties
- Leads the development of product strategy, messaging, advertising, public relations and social media campaigns in support of Brands strategic objectives
- Continually refine brand positioning and marketing messages to execute effective campaigns to drive competitive differentiation
- Lead market research programs & market insights for brand and monitor/anticipate market development; life-cycle management of brand from a strategic marketing level
- Lead the development of an evolving Payer marketing value proposition, related customer facing materials and internal cross functional team training
- Establishes relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), establishes physician advisory boards and participates in industry organizations to maintain awareness of market trends
- Lead team of highly skilled product managers delivering towards brands objectives
- Partner with medical affairs, regulatory, sales training and commercial analytics to align on strategic deliverables and ensure appropriate staging of scientific and promotional messaging
- Manage agency partners and vendors in overseeing the development of core sales materials, tools and resources for effective communication with physicians/healthcare professionals and consumers
- Spearhead the development of novel promotional and speaker bureau activities in line with internal compliance guidelines
- Collaborate with Market Access, Sales, Training, Commercial Operations and leadership to ensure patient experience is incorporated into core strategy and tactical execution plans
- Use one's knowledge of economic, financial, market and industry trends to understand and improve individual, work group and/or organizational results
- Use one's understanding of major business functions, industry trends and own organization's position to contribute to effective business strategies and/or tactics
- Keep the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action
- Motivate increased employee effort by communicating a compelling view of the organization's purpose, culture and future state
- Represent a comprehensive view of the brand to all internal and external stakeholders, maintaining an appropriate share of voice for the brands within the organization
- Other duties as assigned
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Marketing or Marketing Communications, Management, or other related business discipline
- Master's degree a plus
- Able to understand changing dynamics of pharmaceutical industry
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be a digital native and possess documented social media marketing acumen
- 12-15 years healthcare, pharmaceutical or related product marketing or marketing communications commercial experience
- Pharmaceutical sales experience preferred, not required
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical marketing experience to include successful new product launches and effective management of agencies & promotional budget
- 3-5 years of Dermatology/Pediatric or relevant therapeutic areas preferred

- Up to 30% of travel
