Position Overview

Our client's Advanced Robotics Team is building and evolving a robotics ecosystem that supports a broad range of modern robotic systems across the manufacturing organization. The existing control environment has been architected around ROS 2 and EtherCAT, and the team is seeking a senior technical leader to take ownership of the architecture and day-to-day technical direction of the platform.

Client is seeking a Senior Architect to lead the evolution of this robotics control system, with responsibility for platform architecture, maintenance, performance improvements, and feature expansion. This individual will serve as a senior technical leader, mentor junior engineers, and help drive architectural decisions for a growing robotics ecosystem.

The role also includes collaboration with an international team based in Thailand, requiring occasional late-night meetings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and technical direction of a robotics control system built on ROS 2 and EtherCAT.
• Take ownership of the existing platform and drive ongoing maintenance, optimization, and architectural improvements
• Identify inefficiencies within the current ecosystem and implement scalable solutions
• Design and deliver new features within the robotics platform
• Serve as the senior technical leader for robotics control system architecture and evolution
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on design, engineering best practices, and technical execution
• Partner with global engineering teams, including an international team in Thailand
• Support a broad robotics ecosystem spanning multiple robotic form factors and use cases

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience architecting robotics control systems
• Expert-level coding experience with ROS 2
• Strong software engineering background in robotics systems
• Experience maintaining and improving existing platform architecture
• Experience designing and supporting perception systems using Physical AI
• Ability to lead technical design efforts while remaining hands-on when needed
• Experience mentoring or leading more junior engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EtherCAT in robotics or real-time control environments
• Experience supporting a diverse robotics ecosystem, including humanoids, quadrupeds, AMRs, cobots, or drones
• Background in manufacturing, industrial automation, or advanced robotics environments
• Experience collaborating with distributed or international engineering teams
