Java Specialis

Role Description The Java Specialist will work in a part-time, remote capacity, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of Java-based software components within the project’s technical stack. Day-to-day tasks include implementing robust backend services, building and integrating microservices, and applying Jakarta EE standards to ensure scalable and secure solutions.

The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teammates, reviewing code, and contributing to architectural decisions using established design patterns. The Java Specialist will also participate in technical documentation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to support reliable delivery of project milestones.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in core Java Programming and Software Development practices.
• Hands-on experience with Jakarta EE and related enterprise Java frameworks.
• Practical knowledge of Microservices architecture, including service design and integration.
• Ability to apply Design Patterns to build maintainable and scalable solutions.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, version control systems (e.g., Git), and build tools (e.g., Maven or Gradle).
• Familiarity with cloud or containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Good communication skills in English and experience collaborating in international or research-oriented projects is an advantage.
