Distribution Planning Engineer -

This position is responsible for conducting and evaluating planning studies on the Client distribution system to meet the needs of our customers. The successful candidate will exhibit knowledge of utility electric power system data and modeling, lead solution teams and the development of project solutions This role interfaces with cross-functional groups within Client Company to develop long term solutions.

These solutions will need to be forward-looking and cost effective as we shape our grid of the future to include Grid Investment and integration of Distributed Energy Resources (DER). This position is part of a hybrid work environment and will primarily work in the Metro Atlanta area or Central Georgia (Macon/Columbus areas).

• Perform and coordinate feeder analysis studies to ensure adequate capacity and voltage on our feeders.
• Partner with other departments (Distribution Engineering, Area Planning, Reliability, Customer Choice, etc.) to develop and present forward thinking solutions to upper-level management.
• Oversight of capital projects (feeder additions and reconductors) for a distribution area.
• Evaluation of large load projects to assess impacts on the distribution system and assist in determining the method of service.
• Support of special projects to shape Grid Investment, DER integration, etc. into the distribution system
