Senior Site Civil Engineer

Be our next Senior Site Civil Engineer. In this role, you will be part of the Site Civil team with hybrid work arrangements, focusing on land development projects across the United States. You will lead engineering and design services, coordinate with project teams, mentor junior staff, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

Salary: $110,000 to $150,000

Compensation

Actual compensation will be determined based on skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee engineering analysis, design, and calculations for site civil work, including site access, grading, drainage, utility networks, and erosion control.
• Coordinate with clients, government agencies, and design leaders across multiple time zones.
• Generate and review detailed reports to demonstrate compliance with local design guidelines.
• Lead project teams from initial planning through project completion, while seeking future business opportunities.
• Engage, mentor, and motivate junior staff through guidance, knowledge transfer, and goal setting.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate document preparation for multiple simultaneous projects.
• Provide quality oversight and review of design and calculations performed by staff.
• Serve as the lead on significant or complex projects.
• Assist in developing processes and contribute to achieving operational excellence.
• Review project changes, contract alterations, and additional work requests affecting staffing or budget.
• Travel as needed to support projects and business development efforts.
• Provide technical assistance in resolving design issues through field investigations, detailed design work, and coordination.
• Act as a technical specialist by applying advanced engineering concepts and methods.
• Represent the organization in the community and professional societies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience with land development projects (e.g., retail, industrial, data centers, multifamily, residential subdivisions).
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of residence.
• Proven technical experience with a wide range of civil projects and client services.
• A track record of innovation, leadership, and creativity.
• Experience leading projects through entitlement processes, including rezoning and planned unit developments.
• Ability to quickly understand new municipal codes and regulations.
• Thorough understanding of business and financial principles in a consulting environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead and develop engineering and project management teams.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D design software.
• Proficiency with SWMM, ICPR, HEC, or similar modeling software.
• Strong technical and computer skills, including the ability to conduct successful virtual meetings.
