Hiring: Senior Backend Engineer (Java/Scala) – 8+ Years Experience on W2

About the Role

We are looking for engineers who go beyond coding and take full ownership of outcomes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of backend services—from design and development to deployment, monitoring, and production support. We value problem-solving, system thinking, and engineering ownership.

Key Responsibilities

Own features end-to-end: design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

Build scalable and resilient distributed systems handling high transaction volumes.

Drive technical decisions and contribute to architecture discussions.

Develop high-performance microservices using Java and/or Scala.

Create effective unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing strategies.

Ensure service reliability, observability, and operational excellence.

Required Skills

Backend Development

Strong experience with Java and/or Scala.

Expertise in building microservices and distributed systems.

Cloud & Infrastructure (AWS)

Hands-on experience with ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, SQS, CloudWatch, and IAM.

Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.

Data & Messaging

Kafka (event-driven architectures, consumer management, rebalancing).

Redis (caching strategies, pub/sub, clustering).

MongoDB/DocumentDB (schema design, indexing, aggregation pipelines).

Monitoring & Observability

Datadog (dashboards, alerts, SLOs, APM traces).

Splunk (log analysis and incident investigation).

Strong understanding of distributed tracing and structured logging.

SRE & Production Support

Root cause analysis and troubleshooting production incidents.

Experience with circuit breakers, retries, fallbacks, and graceful degradation.

Capacity planning and performance optimization.

Nice to Have

Resilience4j or Hystrix.

JVM and GC tuning.

CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies (Blue-Green, Canary).

Technical leadership and cross-team initiative ownership.
