Underwriter

We are currently looking for an experienced Underwriter to join our team.The ideal candidate should have a strong background in risk analysis, financial analysis, and insurance underwriting.

They must possess excellent analytical skills, be detail-oriented, and have a thorough understanding of insurance regulations.

We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills who can collaborate effectively with other departments and internal partners.The Underwriter is responsible for evaluating and approving applications for insurance coverage to ensure company objectives and regulatory compliance.

They will review and evaluate applications and related documents to determine the acceptability of risk and set appropriate premium rates.

Responsibilities

Analyze applications and related documents to assess risk and determine acceptability of applicants

Set appropriate premium rates based on risk assessment

Evaluate insurance regulations to ensure compliance

Maintain detailed records and documentation of underwriting decisions

Collaborate with other departments and internal partners to ensure customer satisfaction

Make sound risk management decisions based on data analysis

Utilize problem-solving skills to resolve complex insurance issues

Monitor changes in the insurance market to remain compliant

Provide guidance and advice to colleagues on underwriting standards

Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and brokers to ensure accurate information is collected
