Senior Civil Designer

We're looking for an experienced Senior Site/Civil Designer who is passionate about technical excellence and delivering high-quality site and civil engineering designs. This role is ideal for a highly skilled Autodesk Civil 3D Subject Matter Expert (SME) who enjoys solving complex design challenges, improving standards, and helping project teams work more efficiently.

Experience in design and delivery of commercial, residential, and industrial land development plans is a minimum qualification. Supporting solar development is highly desirable. If you have designed large solar sites, grading and erosion control plans, stormwater systems, utilities, and roadways, you'll have the opportunity to make an immediate impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production of site/civil engineering plans from concept through construction.
• Create and oversee the preparation of comprehensive site/civil construction documents, including existing conditions and demolition plans, site layout plans, grading and drainage plans, utility plans, erosion and sediment control plans, roadway and access designs, construction details, and final plan sets.
• Develop complex Civil 3D surfaces, corridors, alignments, profiles, feature lines, grading objects, and pipe networks.
• Ensure drawings meet company standards, client expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and train designers and engineers on Civil 3D best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows through automation, templates, and innovative design techniques.
• Participate in QA/QC reviews to ensure technical accuracy and consistency.
• 8+ years of progressive site/civil design experience.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering, Drafting and Design or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway design.
• Experience producing construction documents for land development projects.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Preferred experience with solar field designs
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS workflows.
• Experience with state and local permitting requirements.
• Utilization of Dynamo in Civil 3D environment a plus.
