Survey Project Manager

Fred Smith Company is currently searching for an experienced Survey Project Manager. We are a self-perform heavy civil contractor working in the greater Raleigh and Triangle area. Pay will commensurate with experience; all employees are eligible after 90 days for benefits such as health, dental and vision insurance and paid time off.

Responsibilities and duties

• Plan daily activities of multiple projects to meet productivity goals for field crews
• Review and monitor field crews in Construction Staking, As-Built Surveys, and Topographic Surveys
• Computations for construction stakeout including site work, residential subdivisions and roadway projects
• Prepare Topographic surveys and As-Built surveys of completed work
• Draw 3D models for site and roadway projects
• Review plans and CAD for errors
• Monitor job cost and communicate job changes with survey department manager
• Assist in training field crews and junior office staff
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 5+ years of surveying experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work independently and as a team member
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Carlson Civil Suite
• Working knowledge of Carlson SurveCE, Robotic Total Stations and Topcon GPS Technology.
