Are you an experienced Building Automation Project Manager looking to take ownership of large-scale controls projects, strategic customer relationships, and project delivery excellence?

We are seeking a Senior DDC Project Manager to lead complex Building Automation System (BAS) projects from initial planning through final turnover. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for managing project profitability, mentoring project teams, and partnering directly with customers to ensure exceptional project outcomes.

This opportunity is best suited for an established BAS professional with a proven track record of successfully delivering large commercial controls projects while managing budgets, schedules, resources, and customer expectations.

The Opportunity

As a Senior DDC Project Manager, you will oversee the execution of complex Building Automation projects across commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, and mission-critical facilities.

You will serve as both a project leader and trusted advisor, driving successful project delivery while developing long-term customer relationships and supporting the growth of project management talent within the organization.

This role requires a strong understanding of BAS/DDC systems, construction processes, financial management, and customer relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

• Lead large-scale and multi-phase BAS/DDC projects from project award through final acceptance
• Develop and manage project schedules, manpower plans, budgets, and execution strategies
• Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to ensure successful project delivery
• Monitor project progress and proactively address schedule, labor, and resource challenges
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to client expectations

Financial Management

• Own project financial performance and profitability
• Manage budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and project financial reporting
• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Review change orders and ensure opportunities are properly captured
• Lead recovery efforts on underperforming projects to restore profitability and schedule adherence

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout project execution
• Lead client meetings, construction meetings, and executive-level project reviews
• Build trusted relationships with owners, general contractors, consultants, and subcontractors
• Resolve project challenges while maintaining customer satisfaction and confidence
• Represent the company during high-profile project discussions and industry events

Team Development & Mentorship

• Mentor and support Project Managers, Associate Project Managers, and junior team members
• Provide guidance on project execution, customer communication, and financial management
• Promote consistency in project delivery standards and best practices
• Contribute to the ongoing development of project management processes and procedures

Technical Oversight

• Review project plans, specifications, scope documents, and sequences of operation
• Support project teams with technical guidance when required
• Ensure BAS installations align with project requirements, standards, and customer expectations
• Collaborate with engineering, programming, commissioning, and field teams throughout project execution

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

• 6+ years of Building Automation (BAS/DDC) Project Management experience
• Proven experience managing multiple BAS projects simultaneously
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and controls applications
• Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and cost controls
• Experience leading customer meetings and coordinating project stakeholders
• Strong understanding of construction project workflows and trades
• Ability to successfully manage project risk, schedule challenges, and scope changes

Preferred Experience

• Large commercial BAS projects
• Healthcare, higher education, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, industrial, or data center projects
• Mentoring or leading Project Managers and project teams
• Multi-million-dollar project portfolio responsibility
• Exposure to design-build and plan-spec project environments

Platform Experience (Preferred)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred
• Equivalent BAS industry experience considered
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid driver's license
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities
• Strong contract and construction document comprehension
