Senior Industrial Process Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Industrial Process Engineer to join their manufacturing operations. This role is critical for optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of industrial engineering principles, lean manufacturing methodologies, and statistical process control. You will be responsible for analyzing existing production systems, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to enhance throughput, reduce waste, and minimize costs.

This position requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with production staff, management, and cross-functional teams. You will be hands-on, working directly on the production floor to implement and monitor process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Design, develop, and implement new production processes and systems using industrial engineering principles.
• Apply lean manufacturing techniques (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S) to streamline operations and eliminate waste.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and flowcharts.
• Conduct time and motion studies to optimize workflow and resource allocation.
• Utilize statistical process control (SPC) methods to monitor process performance and identify deviations.
• Collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Manage process improvement projects from conception to implementation, ensuring timely completion and measurable results.
• Train production staff on new processes and best practices.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in industrial engineering and manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree: in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• A Master's degree: is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in industrial engineering or process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Lean manufacturing: Proven experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies (certification preferred).
• Statistical process control: Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis techniques.
• Software proficiency: Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools is desirable.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Project management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across different departments.
• Industry experience: Experience in the automotive or a similar high-volume manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance in a manufacturing setting.
