Entry-Level Engineer

This position is for upstream and midstream oil and gas production and requires a detail-oriented person who has recently graduated or will be graduating soon with a Bachelors in Engineering.

Must have the ability to perform engineering and design functions for typical and complex pipeline pumping, compressor stations, liquid and gas storage, plant and metering facilities in accordance with industry codes such as, but not limited to ASME B31.3, B31.4, and B31.8 and DOT CFR 49 sections 192 and 195, including local, state, and federal regulations. This role requires a self-motivated individual.

Primary responsibilities

• Support engineering and design activities for energy-related projects
• Understand and manage the project scope of work, budget and schedule
• Assist with equipment sizing, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation
• Develop engineering drawings and design packages under the direction of senior engineers
• Participate in field visits, construction support, startup, and commissioning activities
• Evaluate vendor’s documentation, drawings and technical bids and provide the necessary recommendations to support the project
• Coordinate with project managers, designers, clients, and field personnel
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, PSM (HAZOPs)

Ideal qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering, or Process Engineering from an accredited university
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
• Have a solid understanding and working knowledge of standard drawings such as, P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams, Equipment and Piping
• Understanding of fluid flow, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and process systems
• Interest in natural gas, energy, industrial, and process facility projects
• EIT certification or progress toward obtaining an EIT is preferred
