Assistant Teacher/Floater in a Montessori Preschool

We are a growing preschool that is seeking to fill several Assistant Teacher and Floater positions that are benefits eligible 30+ hour per week afternoon (12-6), morning (8:00 - 2:00) or FT (8:30 - 5:30) shifts Monday to Friday starting on August 3rd. There is often opportunity to sub outside of your shift hours between 8:00 am - 6:00 PM as needed.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet requirements for Assistant Group Supervisor according to PA chapter 3270.36 (2 years verifiable experience working with children or 30 college credit hours in ECE).

Responsibilities include

• Supervise and guide children during lunch, nap or on an excursion to the park (all weather) and assist in the implementation of daily program activities together with lead and assistant teachers
• Display a loving and caring demeanor to implement positive discipline methods that align with the school’s high standards of caregiving
• Work with fellow staff members to plan, prepare and implement PM care activities with guidance from lead teachers and under the supervision of the Director
• Substitute in any of our five classrooms with toddlers (18 m - 3.5 y) or Primary (3-6 y)

Requirements

• The ability to lift 50lbs
• Maintain a complete a staff file according to PA regulations (we can help you obtain this) including clearances from any state in which you lived in the past 5 years - All out of state clearances are required to be in your file on the first day that you work supervising children.
• Meet requirements for Assistant Group Supervisor according to PA chapter 3270

Compensation

Compensation is based on years of experience and education level. We offer very competitive wages, tuition reimbursement for committed individuals, FT (30+ hrs/week) employees are eligible for health, dental, vision benefits and matched 401k as per our benefits package.
