EMEA Business Intelligence Specialist

Overview

A Global Sustainability Consultancy is currently looking to hire an EMEA Business Intelligence Specialist to join its London-based team.

The firm works with cities, corporates, investors and other organisations to drive sustainable performance and to develop financially driven sustainability strategies, underpinned by technical expertise and delivered by innovative collaborative teams across the world.

The business intelligence team provides leading global intelligence and compliance risk services, and specializes in enhanced due diligence investigations. The team's regional and sectoral expertise help the world's foremost organisations make informed, ethical decisions about the professionals and businesses they work with, the assets they acquire, and where and how they operate.

Some of the products the team offers to clients include compliance investigations, ESG due diligence, and human rights impact assessments.

Candidates should have proven experience working in a fast-paced research environment, excellent qualitative analytical skills, and a track record of producing high quality research for use in a commercial setting.

Candidates should have a strong knowledge of the region's business and political environments, as well as an innate sense of curiosity about international affairs, public policy and global markets more generally.

The team is seeking researchers and/or case managers to join the growing EMEA practice. Candidates will ideally have experience in due diligence, ESG and Human Rights, disputes and litigation support, political risk and/or investigative journalism. The firm is also be interested in hearing from candidates with other backgrounds looking for a change of career.

The position offered will depend on the candidate's prior experience in a field relevant to the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complex open source and human intelligence-led investigative assignments (including pre-transactional integrity due diligence checks and other bespoke investigations);
• Write concise and cogent reports that weave in research findings with an in-depth contextualised analysis of key issues and other pertinent findings;
• Deliver written and verbal briefings to senior management and clients on research findings;
• Prepare proposals for new business;
• Support the development of the firm’s human source network in EMEA;
• Once comfortable with in-house style and research methodologies, assist in training new team members and proofreading reports.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Fluency reading and writing English in a commercial context and at least one key regional language;
• 1-6 years' full-time post-graduate work experience in the corporate intelligence industry and/or another relevant investigative background;
• Experience using open source research tools such as LexisNexis and Factiva, as well as regional and language-specific databases and media sources;
• Ability to plan and manage multifaceted research projects from the proposal stage to delivering our work to the client;
• A working knowledge of financial, commercial and legal concepts;
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited university;
• Professional proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
