This new role sits within the central Due Diligence function in the Division of the University Secretary. It has been created to support Imperial’s exciting partnership ambitions and to strengthen early-stage assessment of legal, financial and reputational risks associated with third-party relationships.
The postholder will hold responsibility for the production of high-quality due diligence reports on Imperial’s third-party relationships to ensure compliance with Imperial’s Relationships Policy.
What you would be doing
The postholder will support the Regulatory Compliance Manager in providing advice and oversight to the network of Due Diligence Coordinators across the Faculties and Professional Services Divisions.
They will also assist in identifying and remedying gaps in due diligence training and knowledge, ensuring that staff are equipped with the skills required to use Imperial’s Due Diligence Portal effectively and to produce due diligence reports of the highest standard to support sound decision‑making.
The postholder will support the provision of relevant training to strengthen staff understanding of relationships management principles and the risks of undue influence or other behaviours that could compromise research integrity, data security, or institutional independence.
The postholder will also play a central role in supporting the coordination of key working groups associated with Imperial’s Relationships Management Framework.
This includes the effective implementation of the Trusted Research Evaluation Framework (TREF), providing guidance and support to colleagues to ensure that due diligence and risk assessments align with national trusted research principles and Imperial’s internal requirements.
The postholder will work closely with the Regulatory Compliance Manager and relevant stakeholders to embed TREF considerations into early‑stage assessments and promote consistent application across Faculties and Divisions.
The postholder will assist the Regulatory Compliance Manager in advising on the appropriate Decision‑Making Body (DMB) for specific relationships, in line with the requirements of the Relationships Policy.
To help ensure consistent application of the Policy across the University, the postholder will also work periodically with the Institutional Compliance & Risk Management team to support proportionate audits of decisions made at DMB Levels 1 and 2.
