I'm currently working with a small but rapidly growing business who are looking to appoint a reliable and hands-on part-time bookkeeper to support their finance function.

This is a really nice opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit SME environment, taking ownership of day-to-day transactional finance while also supporting the production of management information.

Your new role

Purchase & Sales Ledger Management

• Processing supplier invoices and raising sales invoices
• Managing supplier payments and credit control
• Bank & Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Daily/weekly bank reconciliation
• Reconciling key balance sheet accounts
• Transactional Finance
• Posting journals and maintaining accurate records
• Managing expenses and petty cash
• Month-End Support
• Assisting with accruals, prepayments and journals
• Supporting preparation of month-end accounts
• Accounts Preparation
• Assisting in producing draft management accounts
• Preparing information for year-end / external accountants
• Systems & Process Improvements
• Supporting improvements to finance processes as the business grows

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience in a Bookkeeping / Accounts Assistant role within an SME
• Strong understanding of transactional finance processes
• Confident with bank reconciliations and month-end support
• Experience working towards management accounts preparation
• Comfortable using accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
• Part-qualified (AAT / ACCA / CIMA) or qualified by experience
